Get involved

The success of Cornerstone is only possible with the continued and growing support from our local community. We can prevent, reduce and end youth homelessness, but we can't do it without your support!

How you can help

You can help by providing a donation to Cornerstone Landing so that we can continue to stabilize housing situations for young people.  You can also donate gift cards and we will disburse them to assist with basic needs.
A rent supplement of $200.00 per month ($2400.00 per year) can make the difference between a young person sleeping outside and a young person securing housing, graduating school and getting a job. You can help us do this.

Sponsor one or more youth with their basic needs! Cornerstone Landing Youth Services appreciates your support. Personal or corporate sponsorship can take place on a continual basis by donating money weekly, monthly, or annually. Income tax receipts will be provided.
There are many ways you can be of help
- Offer to help at one of our Annual Fundraising events such as our Annual Golf Tournament or Coldest Night of the Year.
- Host a fundraiser yourself.  Each year we have community members create ways to fundraise for Cornerstone Landing.  That is how One Cold Night was started; by a local community member who decided to create awareness and raise funds for Cornerstone Landing.
- Become a member of the executive or a committee. The executive meets approximately once per month to discuss such things as programs, policies and the way forward.

Volunteering & Fundraising
Cornerstone Landing has thrived by having a committed group of dedicated volunteers that grows every year. If you're a high school student looking for volunteer hours or are looking to volunteer, please

Did you know that a young person age 16 or 17, who cannot live at home has only 2 options for financial support in Lanark County:
1. Ontario Works (OW); or
2. A Voluntary Youth Services Agreement (VYSA) with a local Child Welfare Agency.

To access either of these options, a young person needs to ‘prove’ they can’t live at home with their family.  This starts with an agency phone call to their parent(s).
On OW, a single individual will receive approximately $700.00 per month ($400.00 for housing and $300.00 for personal allowance).  On a VYSA, they will receive approximately $1000.00 per month.
Cornerstone Landing Youth Services will help these young people secure housing by providing a rent supplement up to $200.00 per month. We will also assist a young person with their basic needs such as food and clothes, by providing gift cards to a store of their choice.

We take your donations seriously:

All Cornerstone Landing Board Members are volunteers and our Administration fees are very low.  We don't hire admin staff, we don't rent office space (our staff are mobile) and we keep marketing costs to a minimum.  Rest assured, your donations will go directly to helping a young person become housed.  We want young people to thrive, not just survive.
